Wall Displays for Retail, Corporate, and Hospitality: SEG Frames That Update in Minutes

Wall Displays for Retail, Corporate, and Hospitality: SEG Frames That Update in Minutes

Posted by Jen Smithson on Jun 26th 2026

Most businesses that need professional wall signage end up choosing between two options: a framed poster that looks dated within months, or a custom vinyl wrap that costs thousands and can't be changed without a contractor. There is a third option that we have been building for the trade show industry for nearly 30 years, and we recently made it available as a standalone product. Wall displays from Displayit use the same SEG (silicone edge graphics) frame technology and G7 Certified dye-sublimation printing that powers our trade show booths, now sized and designed for permanent wall mounting in retail stores, corporate offices, lobbies, and hospitality spaces. The result is a wall display that looks as clean as a vinyl installation but can be updated with new graphics in minutes, without tools, and at a fraction of the cost. Below, we cover the four sizes available, where each one works best, and why SEG wall displays are replacing traditional signage in commercial spaces.

What is a wall display and how does it work?

A wall display is a wall-mounted aluminum frame that holds a custom-printed fabric graphic using silicone edge graphics (SEG) technology. The graphic has a thin silicone strip sewn around its perimeter that presses into a channel in the frame, creating a smooth, frameless finish with no visible hardware or edges. The effect is a graphic that appears to float on the wall.

We have been using this same technology in our pop up trade show displays and backlit booth systems for years. The difference with these wall displays is that they are designed for permanent mounting rather than portable use. The frames attach directly to the wall with standard screws, and the graphics slide in and out without removing the frame. This means you install the frame once and swap graphics as often as you want.

  • Frame material: Lightweight aluminum extrusion with a slim profile that sits close to the wall
  • Graphic material: Dye-sublimation printed polyester fabric with silicone edge
  • Graphic swap time: Under 5 minutes, no tools required
  • Installation: Mount the frame to the wall with screws (hardware included), then press in the graphic
  • Print quality: G7 Certified dye-sublimation, same process used on all Displayit trade show graphics

What sizes do wall displays come in?

Displayit wall displays are available in four sizes, from a compact 24" x 36" for hallways and small retail spaces up to an oversized 48" x 96" for flagship stores and corporate lobbies. Every size includes the aluminum frame and a custom-printed SEG graphic.

Wall Display Dimensions Best For Price
24" x 36" Wall Mounted Display 2ft x 3ft Office hallways, small retail, wayfinding, reception desks $225
36" x 48" Retail Wall Display 3ft x 4ft Retail product features, in-store promotions, salon and spa signage $325
48" x 72" Large Wall Display 4ft x 6ft Corporate lobbies, conference rooms, large retail feature walls $600
48" x 96" Oversized Wall Display 4ft x 8ft Flagship retail, corporate headquarters, hospitality, event venues $900

All four sizes use the same aluminum frame system and SEG attachment method. If you need a custom size that falls outside these four options, contact our team to discuss custom dimensions.

Where do businesses use wall displays?

We designed these wall displays based on requests we were getting from existing trade show customers who wanted the same print quality and frameless look for their permanent spaces. The most common use cases we see:

Retail stores. Wall displays replace traditional printed posters and foam board signs with a professional, fabric-based graphic that does not curl, fade, or reflect glare under store lighting. Retail managers swap graphics seasonally or for new product launches without calling a sign company. A 36" x 48" retail wall display behind a checkout counter or near a fitting room entrance refreshes the look of the store for $325 instead of the $1,500+ cost of a vinyl wall wrap.

Corporate offices and lobbies. The 48" x 72" and 48" x 96" sizes work well as branded feature walls in reception areas, conference rooms, and executive offices. The fabric finish eliminates glare, which is a common problem with acrylic or glass-covered signage in bright lobby environments. Companies with multiple locations can ship replacement graphics to each office and have staff swap them without a contractor.

Hospitality and events. Hotels, restaurants, and event venues use wall displays for seasonal menus, event branding, and directional signage. The ability to swap graphics in under 5 minutes is particularly valuable for venues that host multiple events per week with different branding requirements.

Healthcare and education. Clinics, hospitals, and university buildings use wall displays for wayfinding, department branding, and informational signage. The 24" x 36" size fits standard hallway spaces between doorways.

How do wall displays compare to traditional wall signage?

We get this question from almost every customer evaluating wall displays for the first time. Here is how SEG wall displays compare to the three most common types of traditional wall signage:

Factor SEG Wall Display Framed Poster Vinyl Wall Wrap
Visual Finish Frameless, fabric, no glare Visible frame and glass, glare under lighting Flat vinyl adhered directly to wall, no glare
Graphic Updates Swap in under 5 min, no tools Remove frame, swap poster, rehang Full removal and reinstallation by contractor
Update Cost $75 - $300 for a replacement graphic $20 - $100 for a new printed poster $500 - $2,000+ for removal and new wrap
Durability Fabric does not curl, crack, or yellow Paper curls and fades within months Vinyl peels at edges over time, especially in humidity
Professional Look Premium, gallery-quality finish Looks good initially, degrades quickly Premium when new, difficult to maintain

The biggest advantage of a wall display over vinyl is the cost of updates. A retail store that changes its wall graphics four times per year spends $300 to $1,200 in replacement SEG graphics versus $2,000 to $8,000+ in vinyl removal and reinstallation. The frame stays on the wall permanently. Only the fabric graphic changes.

Can I replace the graphics on a wall display?

Yes, and this is the core advantage of the SEG wall display system. The aluminum frame mounts to your wall once. When you want to update the graphic, you pull the silicone edge out of the frame channel, slide in the new graphic, and press the edges into place. No tools, no contractor, no damage to the wall. The entire swap takes under 5 minutes.

Replacement graphics for wall displays are printed using the same G7 Certified dye-sublimation process we use for all Displayit products. Colors are vibrant, consistent across orders, and will not crack, peel, or fade under indoor lighting. This is the same print technology behind the trade show graphics we produce for exhibitors at shows like CES, NRF, and HIMSS.

For businesses that update signage frequently (seasonal retail, event venues, multi-location corporate offices), the wall display pays for itself within two to three graphic cycles compared to the cost of replacing vinyl, foam board, or framed prints. How do I choose the right wall display size?

The right size depends on the wall space available, the viewing distance, and how prominent you want the display to be. Here is a quick guide based on what we recommend for common environments:

Environment Recommended Size Why
Office hallway or small waiting room 24" x 36" Fits between doorways and in narrow wall sections without overwhelming the space
Retail checkout or product feature area 36" x 48" Large enough to showcase a product or promotion, small enough to fit alongside shelving and fixtures
Corporate lobby or conference room 48" x 72" Visible from across the room. Creates a branded focal point without covering the entire wall.
Flagship retail, hotel lobby, or event venue 48" x 96" Full 8-foot width creates an immersive branded wall that commands the space

If you are outfitting multiple rooms or locations, you can mix sizes to match each wall. The frame system is the same across all four sizes, so the installation process is identical. Our standard production time is 4 to 7 business days after artwork approval, with rush production available in 2 to 3 days. Wall displays use the same dye-sublimation printing and SEG frame technology that Displayit has been building for the trade show industry since 1996.
