The 10ft Backlit Trade Show Display Built to Own the Booth
The Aurora 10ft Backlit SEG Display is our top-tier 10x10 backlit display: a 10-foot-wide, 8-foot-tall illuminated wall built around a 120mm premium aluminum SEG frame, internal LED edge lighting, and custom-printed backlit fabric graphics. When your display is lit and your graphic is loaded, attendees see a seamless, glowing brand wall with no visible frame, no hardware, and no light gaps. That's what separates a backlit SEG display from every other format on the floor.
The Aurora ships in two variants: single-sided and double-sided. Both include a protective EPP wheeled case. Whether you're filling the back wall of a 10x10 inline booth or building out a freestanding island configuration, the Aurora delivers the kind of visual presence that makes attendees stop before they even read your messaging.
What’s Included:
- 120mm aluminum SEG lightbox frame with internal supports
- Internal LED edge lighting system (6 LED strips, 2 power supplies, UL certified)
- Custom-printed backlit SEG graphic (double-sided, or single-sided)
- Hard plastic wheeled shipping case with durable foam inserts
What Makes a Great 10ft Backlit Trade Show Display
Not all backlit displays are built the same. The differences that matter most aren't visible in a product photo; they show up on the show floor, during setup, and when you're re-packing after day three of a four-day show. Here's what to evaluate before you buy.
Frame Profile and Material
The frame is the foundation of a backlit display. A narrow or lightweight frame will flex under the tension of a loaded SEG graphic, creating uneven light distribution and a visible bow across the face of the display. The Aurora uses a 120mm aluminum frame profile, wider than standard SEG systems, which provides the rigidity to hold a 10-foot span flat under graphic tension. Aluminum also dissipates heat from the LED system more effectively than plastic-frame alternatives, which matters for multi-day events where the display runs for eight or more hours at a time.
Lighting Type: Edge vs. Curtain
Backlit trade show displays use one of two lighting approaches: LED edge lighting or rollable curtain lights. Edge lighting routes LED strips along the interior perimeter of the frame, distributing light across the back of the graphic from the edges inward. Curtain lights hang behind the graphic on a separate rollable panel. Edge lighting produces more even illumination across the full graphic surface, with fewer hot spots at the center and no dark zones near the perimeter. The Aurora uses internal LED edge lighting, the same system found on premium displays at significantly higher price points.
Power Placement
Where the power supply lives affects both the aesthetics of your booth and the practical experience of setting up and breaking down. External power supplies that sit on the floor behind the display create cord management problems and look unfinished from behind. Internal power supplies, like those on the Aurora, are mounted inside the frame cavity. The only thing exiting the display is a single power cord to your outlet. From behind, the display looks clean. From the front, there's nothing to distract from the graphic.
Graphic System
The graphic system determines how the display actually looks when it's assembled. Tension fabric displays use a pillowcase-style graphic that stretches over the frame, easy to install but prone to uneven tension and visible seams at frame joints. SEG graphics use a silicone edge sewn into the perimeter of the print, which slides into a channel in the frame and locks flat under consistent tension across the entire surface. The result is a tighter, more frameless look with no visible stretch lines or puckering at the corners. For backlit applications, SEG fabric is also specifically formulated to transmit light evenly; the material is not the same as standard dye-sublimation fabric.
Case Quality and Pack-Out
A display that's difficult to pack or arrives damaged isn't a good display. The Aurora ships in a wheeled hard plastic case with EPP (expanded polypropylene) foam inserts. EPP is a structural foam material used in protective packaging for fragile equipment; it's lighter than traditional molded hard-shell cases while providing comparable impact resistance. The wheeled design means you can move the packed case through convention center loading docks, freight elevators, and parking structures without needing additional equipment.
| Feature | Benefit |
|---|---|
| 120mm SEG Aluminum Frame | A wider frame profile than standard SEG systems. More structural rigidity, better light containment, and a cleaner silicone-edge graphic channel that's easier to load and holds tension more consistently across the 10-foot span. |
| LED Edge Lighting with Internal Power | Six LED strips at 6531K color temperature produce bright, even illumination across the full graphic surface. Power supplies are housed inside the frame, with no external hardware, no floor-level power boxes, no cord management problems. |
| Double-Sided SEG Graphics | Both variants include a fully printed front graphic. Double-sided adds a printed back. Single-sided uses a blackback that prevents light bleed without wasting print budget on a surface no one will see. |
| UL-Certified Lighting System | UL certification is required by most convention centers and trade show venues. The Aurora meets that requirement out of the box, with no exemption requests, no calls to show management the day before setup. |
| EPP Wheeled Case with Inserts | Expanded polypropylene construction is lighter than traditional molded hard cases while providing strong impact resistance for freight. Custom foam inserts protect the frame and graphics. Wheels included. |
| Tool-Free Assembly | No tools, no loose hardware. Two people can have the display fully assembled and lit in approximately 30 minutes, including unpacking, frame assembly, graphic loading, and power connection. |
Single-Sided vs. Double-Sided
| Single-Sided | Double-Sided | |
|---|---|---|
| Front graphic | Custom-printed backlit fabric | Custom-printed backlit fabric |
| Back graphic | Blackback (professional finish, no light bleed) | Custom-printed backlit fabric |
| Best for | Inline booths against a wall or pipe-and-drape | Island configurations, aisle-facing placements, or any setup where the back of the display is visible |
If your booth is against a wall or pipe-and-drape, single-sided is the right call and saves on graphic cost. If attendees can see the back of your display from an aisle or adjacent booth, the double-sided version turns that exposure into a branding opportunity rather than a finished-but-blank surface.
The Aurora Graphic: What Backlit SEG Fabric Actually Looks Like
Backlit SEG fabric is a specialized print substrate, not the same material used for standard dye-sublimation tension fabric displays. It's engineered to transmit light evenly from the LED edge strips behind it, which means the illumination spreads across the full face of the graphic rather than concentrating near the light source. Colors appear saturated and vivid even under bright convention center ambient lighting, which washes out non-illuminated displays and makes standard fabric graphics look flat by comparison.
The silicone edge sewn around the perimeter of the Aurora graphic is approximately 8-10mm in diameter. When installed, it slides into the channel in the 120mm frame and locks under tension across the full perimeter of the display. The result is a frameless face: the graphic runs edge to edge with no visible border, no hardware lines, and no stretch artifacts at the corners. The installed look is closer to a lightbox panel than a fabric display.
When you're ready to update your messaging, replacement graphics for the Aurora can be ordered through the Replacement Graphics section of the site. You don't need to replace the frame or any hardware. Just the fabric panel.
Built for the 10x10 Booth and Beyond
The Aurora 10ft display is sized for a standard 10x10 booth space, but the frame system and self-contained power make it flexible across configurations.
| Configuration | How It Works | Variant |
|---|---|---|
| 10x10 inline | Fills the back wall at full width. The 8-foot assembled height clears most pipe-and-drape systems cleanly. Add a counter or banner stand in front to complete the booth without additional framework. | Single-sided |
| 10x20 inline | Two Aurora displays placed side by side create a 20-foot continuous backlit wall. The frame profile is consistent between units, keeping the seam minimal and professional. | Single-sided |
| Island configuration | The double-sided variant works as a freestanding brand wall visible from multiple approach angles. Pair with towers, counters, or monitor stands to build a full island layout. | Double-sided |
| Aisle-facing placement | In corner booths or end-cap configurations where one side of the display faces an open aisle, the double-sided variant brands both directions without requiring a separate display. | Double-sided |
| Lobby or permanent installation | The 4.7-inch frame depth and internal power supply make the Aurora a clean option for long-term installations where projecting hardware would look unfinished. No external power box on the floor. | Either |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a 120mm SEG frame, and why does it matter?
SEG stands for Silicone Edge Graphics. The graphic is printed with a soft silicone border sewn around the edge, which slides into a channel in the frame to create a taut, frameless look. At 120mm, the Aurora's frame profile is wider than standard SEG frames, typically 50-80mm. The wider profile provides better light distribution across the graphic surface, more structural rigidity over a 10-foot span, and a deeper channel that holds the silicone edge more securely during transport and repeated setup cycles.
How is the Aurora different from a tension fabric display?
Tension fabric displays (sometimes called pillowcase displays) use a graphic that stretches over the outside of the frame like a fitted sheet; the frame is visible as a border around the graphic, and the fabric pulls at the corners under tension. SEG displays use a graphic with a silicone edge that locks into a channel in the frame, so the graphic face is taut and frameless with no visible border. For backlit applications specifically, SEG fabric is also a different print substrate than standard tension fabric; it's engineered to transmit light evenly rather than block or diffuse it. The visual difference between a lit backlit SEG display and a lit tension fabric display with curtain lights is significant.
How does internal power work?
The two power supplies are mounted inside the frame cavity, behind the graphic. A single power cord routes from the frame to a standard outlet at your booth. You won't see power supply hardware behind the display, and there's no external ballast or box on the floor. This matters both aesthetically and practically: booth inspectors at some venues flag unsecured external power supplies as a tripping hazard, and internal placement eliminates that issue entirely.
How long does setup take?
Two people can assemble the Aurora in approximately 30 minutes, including unpacking, frame assembly, graphic loading, and power connection. First-time setup typically takes a bit longer while you're learning the frame system and graphic channel. By your second show, most teams get it down to 20-25 minutes. We include assembly instructions in the box and as a download on this page.
Can I use the Aurora at multiple shows?
Yes, and the system is designed for repeated use. The aluminum frame is built to withstand repeated assembly and disassembly cycles without loosening at the joints. The SEG graphic can be removed, folded, and stored in the case between shows without creasing or damaging the silicone edge. The wheeled case with EPP foam provides consistent protection across freight shipments and vehicle transport. Many exhibitors use the same Aurora frame for years and simply order updated graphics when their messaging changes.
What file format do I need for the graphic?
We accept print-ready PDF, AI, or EPS files. Graphics should be submitted at 100% size (or 50% at double resolution) at a minimum of 100 dpi at full scale. Color mode should be CMYK. Templates with bleed and safe zone guidelines are available for download on this page. If your file is in RGB or your resolution is below spec, our production team will flag it during art review before going to print.
What color temperature are the LEDs?
6531K, which sits in the cool white range. At this temperature, backlit fabric graphics render with high color accuracy and strong perceived brightness. It's the standard range for illuminated trade show displays because it makes graphics look sharp and vivid without the yellow cast of warmer LEDs, and it holds up well under the bright ambient lighting of convention center floors where warmer light sources tend to look dim.
Is the Aurora certified for trade show venues?
Yes. The lighting system carries UL certification. Most convention centers and trade show venues require UL-listed or UL-certified lighting equipment as a condition of booth approval. The Aurora meets that requirement out of the box. If your show requires documentation, the UL certification information is available on request.
Does the case lock?
The included EPP wheeled case does not have a built-in lock. If a locked case is required for freight or venue security reasons, we recommend adding a padlock-compatible strap or contact us to discuss case options.
What are the shipping dimensions and weight?
The display ships in a single EPP wheeled case. Shipping dimensions: 41" x 13" x 13". Shipping weight: 69 lbs. Product weight (display only, no case): 56 lbs. The compact case dimensions mean the Aurora ships as a single standard freight piece rather than requiring oversized or pallet shipping.
How long does it take to ship?
The Aurora ships in 7-10 business days on average after art approval. This is the production window for printing and assembling your custom graphic. If you have a hard show deadline, call us at 800-207-0311 and we'll check current production availability and rush options.
Can I order replacement graphics?
Yes. When you're ready to refresh your messaging, replacement graphics for the Aurora can be ordered without purchasing a new frame. The 120mm SEG channel is a consistent standard across the Aurora line, so any replacement graphic ordered for this frame will load the same way as the original.
What power outlet does the Aurora require?
Standard 120V household outlet. The power supply runs at 24V/150W with a total system consumption of 270W. A single outlet at your booth is sufficient for the complete display. If your booth does not have a dedicated electrical drop, contact your show's electrical contractor, as most venues offer add-on electrical services through the exhibitor services portal.
